Navy Submarines
All about military submarines
Submarine is certainly one of the most sophisticated war machines ever built by mankind. Nothing can be left up to fate, every carelessness could kill hundreds of men on board.
Why submarine is so special? The reason is the environment in which it works: the abyss. Water pressure is a deadly threat, so hull has to be incredibly strong and defect-free. A micro crack could smash up all the ship.

Crew must survive for months without receiving supplies or surfacing. So, every board equipment has to work perfectly day by day: oxygen supply, electric power, propulsion, telecommunications, security systems and so on. Many have been the dramatic accidents involving submarines (for example, the well known "Kursk" accident).
Nuclear submarines are the most advanced ones: in principle, they could sail over the sea without resting for many years. A nuclear reactor is not just a propulsion source but actually a power station able to support a small city.

But, first of all, submarines are war machines able to strike suddenly and
silently. Submarines can even launch intercontinental ballistic missiles equipped with multiple nuclear warheads, capable of destroying many cities at the same time. No other machine can do this.
